I recently had a little downtime between consulting contracts, so I put my mystery novels Late Justice and Intentional Take for sale as e-books on the Kindle.
Both were previously released as paperbacks, but these are updated versions published for the Kindle. I tried the Nook too, but there’s no way for the publisher to advertise on the Barnes & Noble website like there is on the Amazon website, so I took them off sale there to make the e-book versions exclusive to Amazon.
Being exclusive allows you to fully use the Amazon Advertising platform, as well as to have your books included in the Kindle Unlimited program where people pay a monthly fee and then can read as many enrolled books as they want. I have been advertising both books on the Amazon website using the advertising platform, and while sales are okay, the exciting part is seeing how many people are actively reading the books on Kindle Unlimited. All I get to see is the total number of pages read, not even which book, but it’s still enjoyable to see those numbers. People seem to be really into reading them, with a total of 1,423 pages read as of today.
Still no reviews for the e-book versions yet on Amazon, but they are getting some good 4- and 5-star ratings on Goodreads. Hopefully the Amazon and Goodreads written reviews will come eventually, but from what I can tell, a good number of people do seem to be enjoying the stories and that’s the most important part.
Here are the short blurbs from the Amazon advertisements:
Late Justice:
“Jeff Tribe did not kill his beloved financée Jessica, but he went to prison for it. Now out, he searches for her true killer.”
Intentional Take:
“An intentional kidnapping. A dark family secret. Can Tribe save her in time?”
